About City

Brisbane is the capital and most populous city in the Australian state of Queensland and it is one of the third most famous city in Australia. Brisbane is the hub of Queensland culture. Brisbane, capital of Queensland, is a big, modern city set on the Brisbane River.

The City offers a discovery in every direction with its sub-tropical climate, gardens and parks, and its ever-changing contemporary architecture. Brisbane has hosted several large cultural, international and sporting events. Clustered in its South Bank cultural precinct are institutions including Queensland Museum and Sciencentre, with noted interactive exhibitions, and Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, among Australia's major contemporary art museums. Looming over the city is Mt. Coot-tha, site of sprawling Brisbane Botanic Gardens, with panoramic views from its summit.

Brisbane is an amazingly diverse city with something to suit everyone’s tastes. The city is full of delights with cultural attractions at South Bank, live music gigs and festivals in Fortitude Valley, farmers markets in New Farm, relaxed picnic grounds in the Botanic Gardens and delicious Chinese cuisine in the kitsch Chinatown.
